Finance Notes: Sky Deutschland Ready For Stock Market Exit

U.K.-based pay-TV broadcaster Sky "increased its stake in its German subsidiary Sky Deutschland to more than 95%, enabling it to take the company off the stock market." Sky’s stake in Sky Deutschland "now amounts to 95.8%." The remaining 4.2% "are in free float at the Frankfurt stock exchange" (BROADBAND TV NEWS, 1/8). ... With the future of Project Phoenix facing a crucial debate in Legco, Hong Kong FA Chair Brian Leung Hung-tak said that "he was confident of securing continued government financial support for the game's development, despite challenges from several clubs." The Legislative Council home affairs panel "will discuss a submission on extending the subsidy for another five years from April 1," capped at a maximum of HK$25M ($3M) each year (SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST, 1/8).
