Media Notes: Sport1 Reportedly Secures UEFA Europa League Rights Through '18

German free-to-air TV channel Sport1 "has reportedly secured the broadcast rights for the UEFA Europa League for three seasons starting with the '15-16 season." The Europa League "currently airs on free-TV channel kabel eins in Germany." Sport1 "has not officially confirmed the deal but is expected to make an announcement at the beginning of '15" (SID, 12/18). ... Fox Sports and Network Ten will broadcast the 2015 Netball World Cup. At the event in Sydney Olympic Park from Aug. 7-16, Fox Sports will broadcast all Netball World Cup games while Network Ten will cover all Australian Diamonds' matches on Ten or ONE (Netball Australia). ... French Gold Medalist Freestyle Skier Kevin Rolland will become a consultant for French extreme sports TV channel MCS Extreme. He will "provide commentary at major competitions" such as the Freestyle Skiing World Cup and the X-Games. He will also host his own show, titled the "KR Show," which will first air on Dec. 25 (L’EQUIPE, 12/17).
