Marketplace Roundup: German Handball Federation, Sportfive Extend Partnership Until '20

The German Handball Federation (DHB) has extended its partnership with sports rights agency Sportfive for another five years until '20. Sportfive will continue to be the exclusive marketing and media-rights partner of the men's and women's national teams. Sportfive has been a partner of the DHB since '08 (DHB). ... Omega will assume its role as official timekeeper once again at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Doha. This weekend it will officially introduce underwater lap counters and backstroke ledges, both of which have been developed specifically for the swimmers’ benefit (Omega). ... The Nigeria Nationwide League "secured a three-year sponsorship deal" worth 20M naira ($111,200) with private company Puzzles Group Ltd. The deal, expected to take effect from the '14-15 NNWL season, "has a two-year renewal option designed to take grassroots football to the next level." NNWL Exec Secretary Sola Ogunnowo said, "The sponsorship will also see the establishment of a website and electronic portal for the league" (ALL AFRICA, 12/4). ... The Statoil Masters Tennis tournament, which is owned and staged by IMG, announced that American apparel brand Boast will be the official clothing supplier for the tournament in '14 (Boast). ... The British Olympic Association unveiled U.K. sofa manufacturer and retailer DFS as the official Team GB homeware partner for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games (Team GB).
