The Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program, a comprehensive school-based youth basketball program, has reached more than 750,000 youths in 1,000 schools in India since its launch in '13. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, Sacramento Kings Owner Vivek Ranadivé and Reliance Foundation Chair Nita Ambani were in Mumbai Tuesday to celebrate this milestone. The Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program promotes health, fitness and an active lifestyle through basketball, and teaches the values of the game such as teamwork, sacrifice, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. The goal is to reach 1 million youth and train 2,000 coaches and physical education instructors across India by 2016 (NBA). ... A total of 11 Japanese players on the Tsukuba Robots have been placed on the NBL’s free agency list after they "didn’t sign new contracts with the Eastern Conference club’s new management company," the league announced on Monday. The players did not reach agreement to sign with the new management company after being “asked to accept pay cuts by new management” (JAPAN TIMES, 12/1).
