Former LPGA player SUZY WHALEY "has become the first woman officer in the PGA of America's history." The balloting "all but assures that Whaley, who was voted into a two-year term as secretary, will become the first president in the organisation's history in 2018 as officers typically rotate into higher PGA roles." DEREK SPRAGUE was elected president and PAUL LEVY was elected as VP (AFP, 11/23). ... Virgin Racing Team Principal ALEX TAI will be the first chairman of the newly formed Formula E Teams’ Association. E-Dams co-Owner JEAN-PAUL DRIOT and Audi Sport Abt Sports Dir THOMAS BIERMAIER act as vice-chairmen. OLIVER WEINGARTEN has been drafted in as an “interim general secretary, the same role he previously held with Formula 1 teams' body FOTA” (AUTOSPORT, 11/21).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Spanish second division side Sabadell announced on Sunday that it dismissed coach MIQUEL OLMO. He had coached the club for one season (MARCA, 11/23). ... A-League side Brisbane Roar coach MIKE MULVEY has reportedly "been axed by Brisbane's owners anxious for speedy improvement" barely six months after guiding Roar to a grand final win over Western Sydney Wanderers. Roar officials "have reportedly been monitoring Mulvey's situation for some time amid various allegations of internal strife at the club" (THE AGE, 11/23).
