Gloucester Rugby Profits Up By 68% To $818K, Turnover Up By 3.7% To $19M

Premiership rugby side Gloucester "may have endured one of their worst seasons in recent years on the pitch but off it they have posted record profits," according to the WESTERN DAILY PRESS. For the fourth year running the Cherry and Whites "have recorded a profit." The turnover increased by 3.7% to £12M ($19M), with a pre-tax profit of £512,000 ($818,000), up an impressive 68% on the previous year. The "robust results have been pitched in despite an increased investment in the playing department" of £1.1M ($1.8M) and "development of facilities at both Kingsholm and the Hartpury training base." With Kingsholm to host four matches at next year's World Cup, "investments and improvements to facilities are set to continue" (WESTERN DAILY PRESS, 11/4).
