Barcelona To Learn Fate Of FIFA Transfer Ban By Dec. 31, Catalan Daily Ara Reports

Catalan regional daily Ara reported Barcelona will find out before Dec. 31 if the transfer ban imposed by FIFA "preventing the club from making any new signings during the next two windows will be reviewed," according to AS. The sanction was handed down "due to irregularities in the contracts of several of the club's youth team players." As Mundo Deportivo reported on Friday, FIFA has "accepted the fast-tracked appeal that Barcelona submitted to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to seek a swift resolution." What is certain is that Barcelona will "remain inactive in the winter market" in January. The matter will be heard at the CAS on Dec. 4 and 5 (AS, 11/2). In Barcelona, Oriol Domènech reported the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) is "now reviewing the arrival of all youth players who play in Spain but were born outside the country." In the case of Barcelona, "nine players were unable to play with their respective teams over the weekend" due to the review (MUNDO DEPORTIVO, 11/3).
