Spanish Players' NBA Contracts Worth Total Of $500M Dating Back To '86

Spanish players in the NBA have "now earned, or will earn from current contracts," $500M, according to Juanma Rubio of AS. This dates back to '86, with Fernando Martín, "and has grown until the start of the season that just began, with seven Spanish players in the league." The $500M "includes money earned and guaranteed salary players are owed from current contracts." Chicago Bulls F Pau Gasol is guaranteed to earn at least $178.7M from his career, and is followed by the N.Y. Knicks' Jose Calderon ($81.3M), the Minnesota Timberwolves' Ricky Rubio ($71.2M), the Memphis Grizzlies' Marc Gasol ($67.2M) and the Oklahoma Thunder's Serge Ibaka ($55M) (AS, 11/3).
