Insurance Company Alka Named Title Sponsor Of Danish Top-Tier Football League

Insurance company Alka "has been announced as the new title sponsor" of Denmark’s top football division, the Superligaen, according to SOCCEREX. Effective from Jan. 1, the deal "will see the league named the Alka Superligaen for the next three and a half years, with the contract also including an option to extend for a further one to three seasons." Danish press reports suggest that Alka "has agreed to spend" an annual 12M krone ($2M) on the sponsorship. The league "has been without a title sponsor" since the '10-11 season (SOCCEREX, 10/30).
