Ligue 2 Side Sochaux Owner Hopes To Sell Club By January

Six months after beginning the search for a buyer, Ligue 2 side Sochaux founder Peugeot has "failed to sell the club," according to SPORT. The company “hopes to completely withdraw before January.” Sochaux President Denis Worbe said, “It is a goal that would be good for the club and for the buyer. A buyer who would take the reins in January would have the full month to tailor his sporting ambition with the market. We have contacts, but there is nothing concrete yet.” He indicated that the relegation of the club has nothing to do with this sale: “The descent into Ligue 2, it is an industrial accident associated with football, it has nothing to do with PSA looking for a buyer. In Ligue 1 or Ligue 2, the football club is not a core part of the automobile business, and right now the PSA group needs to concentrate on its automobile investments” (SPORT, 10/30).
