MASSIMO MORATTI "has ended his 19-year association with Inter by resigning as the club's honorary president." The former president, who sold a 70% stake in the club to Indonesian media magnate ERICK THOHIR in October  and passed over the presidency to the new owner the following month, "has announced his decision to step aside in a statement which also confirmed the exit of his one of his sons, as well as two close allies." The statement read, "Internazionale Holding Srl ... announces that Mr ANGELOMARIO MORATTI, Mr RINALDO GHELFI and Mr ALBERTO MANZONETTO each individually resigned today from their posts as directors of FC Internazionale Milano Spa" (GOAL, 10/23). ... Serie A side ACF Fiorentina has announced ANDREA ROGG "as the club’s new director general" as of Nov. 3. Rogg, who has held managerial positions at the Marcolin and Luxottica Groups, "is well known in the world of soccer from his time at Puma Italia, the current kit provider of the Italian national team where he held the positions of chief executive and director general" (SOCCEREX, 10/23).

SECURITY CHIEF: JEROME PICKETT will join the NBA as senior VP, chief security officer, effective Oct. 27. Pickett will report to NBA League Operations President JOEL LITVIN and oversee all aspects of the league's domestic and int'l security operations. Pickett joins the NBA with 16 years of experience with the United States Secret Service (NBA). ... Japan Basketball Association President YASUHIKO FUKATSU "announced his resignation from the helm during Tokyo news conference on Thursday with the sport’s national governing body likely to face a ban from FIBA." Fukatsu said that during a JBA board meeting on the same day "he revealed his intention step down and take full responsibility for not having been able to orchestrate a merger of the NBL and bj-league," the nation’s two top leagues, one of the major issues FIBA has asked the JBA to resolve by the end of October. A JBA spokesperson announced that JBA VP and NBL CCO MITSURU MARUO "would take over as an acting president" (JAPAN TIMES, 10/23).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Korea Baseball Organization side SK Wyverns on Tuesday appointed former head of player development KIM HONG-HEE as new manager. The Incheon-based club announced that it named Kim to succeed LEE MAN-SOO, "who had taken over the Wyverns in the middle of the 2011 season, on the bench." Kim has signed for two years for 300M won ($284,700) per season, along with 300M won in signing bonus (KOREA HERALD, 10/21).
