German Hockey Federation, Sport1 Extend Media Rights Deal Until '17-18

The financially struggling German Hockey Federation (DEB) "has extended its cooperation with Sport1 and can count on fixed income from TV," according to the SID. The federation confirmed on Wednesday that it extended its deal with free-to-air TV channel Sport1 until the '17-18 season. As part of the deal, Sport1 "will broadcast the Deutschland Cup along with a minimum of four national team home games and three away games per season." Sport1 "will also use its online and mobile platforms to cover the German national team as its official media partner" (SID, 10/22).
