Liga MX side Monarcas Morelia named MARIO ALBERTO TREJO its sporting VP on Monday. Monarcas President PABLO BOY and ÁLVARO DÁVILA, exec president of club owner Grupo Salinas' football committee, made the announcement (LA AFICION, 10/20). ... Former EPL side Southampton Manager MARK WOTTE is leaving the Scottish FA saying that "he has implemented the plan put in place for the parent body's first performance director." Wotte was appointed in June '11 in the wake of Scottish Labour Party politician HENRY MCLEISH's review of Scottish Football, "which recommended sweeping changes to the domestic structure." But "his outspoken comments" and the creation of the Scottish Professional Football League U20 League have "at times brought him into conflict with domestic clubs and managers" (BBC, 10/21). ... FA General Secretary ALEX HORNE announced that "he is to leave the organisation at the end of January." Horne joined the FA in '04 as finance director and, in '06, "was appointed Wembley Stadium’s managing director." Horne: "After 11 fantastic years I have decided to look for a change of direction and I will be leaving the FA at the end of January" (PA, 10/21). ... Benchmark Sport announced the appointment of ALEX COULSON as the new exec director of the Sport Industry Group. Coulson joins after five-and-a-half years at IMG Consulting, where he worked as director of PR and social media. Starting on Nov. 3, Coulson will be responsible for developing the overall business strategy for the Sport Industry Group, including the BT Sport Industry Awards, the Nolan Partners Sport Industry Breakfast Club, the Sport Industry Private Dining Club and the recently launched Cutting Edge Sport (Sport Industry Group). ... The assembly of the Spanish Ice Sports Federation (FEDH) elected FRANK GONZALEZ as its new president. Gonzalez, who had been the VP for the last two terms and responsible for ice hockey in the organization, earned 20 votes to succeed MARIA TERESA SAMARANCH, who had 16 votes (IIHF).

COACHES/MANAGERS: Spanish second division side Llagostera has dismissed Manager SANTI CASTILLEJO. The announcement "was expected to be made official Tuesday afternoon, with the club also expected to name a new manager" (AS, 10/21). ... Argentine first division side Newell's coach GUSTAVO RAGGIO will "remain with the club" despite "handing in his resignation." The club's directors "opted to keep him in his position" after holding a meeting on Monday and "convincing Raggio to stay" (CLARIN, 10/20). ... Former handball player MARIO CAVALLI is no longer the coach of French handball team Chambery. His collaboration with the Savoyard club ended Monday. Former Chambery player JACKSON RICHARDSON will serve as interim coach until a replacement for the head coach position is found (L’EQUIPE, 10/20). ... La Liga side Levante named LUCAS ALCARAZ its new coach for "the rest of the season, with an option for an additional year." Alcaraz previously managed La Liga side Granada from Jan. '13 through June (Levante). ... Australian TERRY WALSH resigned as India's field hockey coach on Tuesday, “less than three weeks after guiding the team to the Asian Games title, which earned them a direct entry to the 2016 Olympics.” He “blamed India's sporting bureaucracy for his shock resignation in a letter addressed to his employers at the Sports Authority of India that was released to the media.” Walsh said in the letter, “I am finding considerable difficulty adjusting to the decision-making style of the sporting bureaucracy in India which I believe, in the long term, is not in the best interests of Indian hockey or its players” (AFP, 10/21).
