French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve on Monday "condemned the 'unacceptable misbehavior' Saturday at the end of the Ligue 1 match between Nice and Bastia and hoped that the investigation will lead to lawsuits and administrative stadium bans," according to the AFP. Cazeneuve: “In Nice, the pitch invasion was followed by violence from the home fans, while in Lyon a fight broke out between Lyon Ultras and Montpellier Ultras." He also said that these are “unacceptable behaviors that do not have their place in and around sport venues.” The lawn of the Allianz Riviera, future host of the Euro 2016, was "invaded by hundreds of Nice supporters when a brawl between players triggered the final whistle." Four men were taken into custody on Saturday. This week, the interior ministry has banned any travel of fans between Corsica and Nice, and the Alpes-Maritimes administrative office has banished “the wearing, possession or use of any object or clothing in the club colors of SC Bastia.” For Cazeneuve, this misbehavior “fully justifies the bans or strict supervision of fan travel taken by the public powers." He said it "lastly reminds all stakeholders in the world of football, first and foremost the clubs, of their duties, so that, particularly in the context of high-risk matches, all forms of provocation are firmly outlawed” (AFP, 10/20).
