Football Notes: EPL Side Manchester City Wins Two VisitFootball Awards

Three clubs are to receive awards for the quality of their customer care to Premier League fans last season, with Man City leading the way in two categories in the VisitFootball Awards. For providing fans with the best matchday experience, Man City has become the first club to win both the VisitFootball Club of the Year and the Warmest Welcome awards. Cardiff received the Extra Mile Award for being "pioneers in looking after away fans." The fourth award, Unsung Hero, went to Everton Stadium Manager Alan Bowen, for having "the supporter at the heart of his thinking and ideas" (EPL). ... Chile is "looking at holding World Cup qualifiers 2,275 metres above sea level" in the northern city of Calama to give it an advantage over its top South American rivals. Coach Jorge Sampaoli "revealed the plan to profit from the thin air at high altitude" as he seeks to steer Chile to its third consecutive finals in Russia in '18 (REUTERS, 10/13).
