Borussia Dortmund's Drop In Revenue, Profit Affects Bonus Payment To Management

The pockets of Borussia Dortmund bosses Hans-Joachim Watzke and Thomas Treß "were affected by the club's drop in revenue and profit," according to the SID. Dortmund's "drastic decrease in revenue and profit" during the the past fiscal year "impacted the bonus payments to its bosses." The club's '13-14 business report shows the club paid €2.685M less in bonus in comparison to last year. Watzke, who is the chairman of the board, received bonuses of €543,000 in addition to his base salary of €922,000. That's €1.613M less in bonuses than during the '12-13 fiscal year. Finance Dir Treß received a base salary of €520,000 and bonuses of €299,000. In '13, his bonus payment was €1.072M higher than this year. Borussia Dortmund generated revenue of €260.7M and profit of €11.97M in '13-14. Last year, the club recorded a record revenue of €305M and profits of €52.2M (SID, 10/13).
