Iranian Businessman Hossein Hedayati Outlines Bid To Buy La Liga Side Getafe

Iranian businessman Hossein Hedayati, who owns several Iranian clubs, discussed the "ins and outs of his bid to buy" La Liga side Getafe, according to Ghazal Ziari of MARCA. Hedayati said of his knowledge of the club, "They're one of four top-flight clubs in Madrid and are the third biggest of the four. They're a mid-table side, which is a good thing, and they have a good academy and try to produce their own players, which is a plus. I do not have a lot of information about their players, but I can say that I have had some meetings with their CEO in Tehran." When asked about the motivation behind his interest in Spanish football, Hedayati said, "In my opinion, football has no boundaries. It is one of the best and most prestigious leagues in the world. I want to get into Spanish football because of my love of the game and the positive energy inside it. I also want to do something for my country and for the people of Madrid and Iran." Hedayati added that he and his advisers will travel to Spain to talk to Getafe President Ángel Torres in November. Hedayati: "We reached an agreement when the club's CEO came to Iran and Mr. Torres has signed it via email. We'll talk face to face when I'm in Spain" (MARCA, 10/13).
