Bayern Munich Reportedly Generates Revenue Of €528M, Profit Of €16.5M In '13-14

Bayern Munich has reportedly generated revenue of €528M during the '13-14 season, according to FOCUS. The number "represents an increase of 22% in comparison to the previous year." The main reason for the increase "has been drastically higher income from sponsorship and merchandise." The club also generated a profit of €16.5M (€14M in '12-13). Bayern Munich "neither confirmed nor denied those numbers." Bayern Munich "planned to become the world's richest club by '20, however, it has already secured the title of the world's economically most powerful club." The current value of the club's first team is more than €570M ($719M), the football department has a minimum of €100M ($126M) in liquid funds and the club's equity ratio stands at 76% (70% last year). The merchandise income, which "is generated through the sale of jerseys, scarfs and flags, among others," increased from €82.8M to more than €105M during the '13-14 season. The club said that it has "sold 1.2 million jerseys, which is more than all other 17 Bundesliga clubs combined." In the area of sponsorships, Bayern "was able to increase its revenue" from €102.4M to almost €118M (FOCUS, 10/12).
