Belkin Pro Cycling Team, Skating Team BrandLoyalty Announce New Partnership

The Belkin Pro Cycling Team and speed skating team BrandLoyalty signed an agreement with Lotto, part of "De Lotto," and BrandLoyalty. The teams will work together for the next two years under the name of TEAMLottoNL. Lotto will become the title sponsor of the speed skating team on Wednesday. The cycling team will have Lotto as its title sponsor as of Jan. 1. BrandLoyalty will become a sub-sponsor. It is the first time in the history of Dutch sports that speed skating and cycling are brought together this way, with the aim of building a new professional sport structure; sportively, financially and commercially (De Lotto). CYCLING NEWS' Nick Bull reported "there is already a WorldTour team with a similar name: Lotto-Belisol." The Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) did not comment on the issue, but it is understood that its rules "only prohibit companies from being the title sponsor of two teams" (CYCLING WEEKLY, 9/30).
