Franchise Notes: Bundesliga Side Bayern Munich Opens New Fan Shop In Berlin

Bayern Munich "has opened a permanent fan shop at the Leipziger Platz in Berlin." The store "is located inside the LP 12 Mall in the German capital." The shop "will offer jerseys, posters and more than 700 other Bayern Munich products on its 150-square-meter sales floor" (ABENDZEITUNG MÜNCHEN, 9/25). ... Singapore billionaire Peter Lim's Meriton Holdings is "sending its representatives tasked with closing an agreement" with La Liga side Valencia lender Bankia to Madrid. After Meriton execs "left Madrid more than 10 days ago due to a failure to finalize the agreement," they returned to Spain on Tuesday. Their "intention is to reach a resolution to the restructure of the sale by the end of the week" (PLAZA DEPORTIVA, 9/30). ... The "latest person to express interest in acquiring" La Liga side Getafe is Iranian businessman Hossein Hedayati, who owns "several Iranian clubs." Hedayati said, "For some time I have been interested in buying a professional club in Spain. I have begun conversations in this regard with Getafe directors. I have offered to acquire 51%, but I am willing to acquire up to 55% of the shares" (MARCA, 9/30).

LOOKING TO SELL: Malaysian businessman and League Championship side Cardiff City Owner Vincent Tan said that if his club -- which was relegated following the ’13-14 season -- returns to the EPL, "he might consider selling." Tan said, "I’m looking to buy another club in Europe and then I may invest in a club in the U.S., the MLS" (BBC, 9/29). NBC's Kyle Bonn wrote Tan "would definitely bring a new personality" to MLS and "despite many people questioning his ability to effectively lead a functional soccer organization, Tan believes his love for the sport gives him an edge" (NBC, 9/29).
