Swiss Second Tier Football Club Schaffhausen To Build New 8,200-Seat Stadium

Swiss second tier football club Schaffhausen "will build a new stadium," according to Matthias Dubach of BLICK. The Challenge League club "will build a new 8,200-seat stadium in the eastern part of town." The new "Lipo-Park" is expected to open in April '16. Club President Aniello Fontana "will use his own company as an investor in the new stadium." Fontana Invest and Gallus Immobilien "bought the 33,000 square meter construction site on Tuesday." The private project will have a price tag of 52M Swiss francs ($54M). It is "not clear yet whether there will be a public referendum" in regards to the city's 2M Swiss francs ($2.1M) support (BLICK, 9/30).
