Former Player, Coach Leigh Matthews Tells AFL Essendon Coach James Hird To Quit

Former Australian Football League player and coach Leigh Matthews said that AFL Essendon coach James Hird "should quit" in the wake of the club’s "supplements scandal," according to the AAP. Matthews "believes Hird should step away from the Bombers." Matthews: "Essendon need a fresh start. And it's not about Essendon pushing him out. I think James himself ... fresh start. It's not guilt or right or wrong" (AAP, 9/29).
