Hungarian Football Club Diosgyori VTK Launches Construction Of 15,000-Seat Stadium

Hungarian football club Diosgyori VTK is to "launch construction of a new 15,000-seat stadium on its current site" following the end of the '14-15 season, according to Jaroslaw Adamowski of INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL. The club "aims to open the new sports facility" in '16. The club has "unveiled the design of the new stadium which will replace its current stadium" that was built in '39. Under the plan, the project will cost about €21M ($27M). Of these, some €6.5M ($8.3M) is "earmarked for setting up of the club's football academy." During the construction, DVTK will host its home matches at a "different stadium which will provide the side with a seating capacity of about 5,000." The new stadium will "host the club's museum and a fan store, and will comply with UEFA 4 standards" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 9/25).
