Spanish Second Division Side Real Zaragoza Liquidates $3.7M Debt To Tax Authorities

Spanish second division side Real Zaragoza has liquidated its €2.9M ($3.7M) debt to the Spanish tax authorities, "primarily derived from delayed salary payments to players and club employees," according to the EFE. The payment to the tax authorities "was one of the primary problems resolved by the Fundación Zaragoza 2032 through the new exec body's arrival at the club in late July." Club execs admitted in a statement "the difficulty reaching an agreement with the authorities." They added that "Real Zaragoza will re-emphasize its will to meet all its obligations" (EFE, 9/22).
