AC Milan Committed To New Stadium Plan As Reports Of Potential Location Surface

AC Milan "seems committed to a new stadium" as reports suggest co-CEO Barbara Berlusconi "has identified a new area which could house the Rossoneri," according to FOOTBALL ITALIA. Currently, the Diavolo share the Giuseppe Meazza with rivals Inter, "but have been considering plans to construct and own a new ground." Tuttosport reported that an area of land 6km west of San Siro in the Baggio region has been identified by Berlusconi "as a suitable area to construct a new stadium." It is not yet clear whether this is a concrete plan, or simply a way to lower the asking price for land in the Expo area, "but it appears Milan are set on owning their own stadium, following the lead of Juventus and Roma" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 9/23).
