For the first time in the history of the UCI Road World Championships, selected bikes and riders will be equipped with real time location technology and cameras, showing action from inside the peloton during the eight-day event. The Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) will be conducting a test of positioning technology in the UCI Road World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain. The UCI will partner with Euromedia for this trial in the '14 edition of the UCI Road World Championships. Action video cameras will also be mounted on a number of bikes in this year’s event, following the success of other tests conducted on UCI road races this year (UCI). The UCI and its media rights partner Infront Sports & Media are expecting increased levels of TV broadcast coverage for the upcoming UCI Road World Championships from Sunday until Sept. 28. More than 32 media rights licensees will cover the event, providing TV access to fans in over 158 countries and territories across Europe, North and South America, Africa, Middle East, Asia and Australia (Infront).
