Huawei Signs Two-Year Sponsorship Deal With La Liga Side Atlético Madrid

Huawei "signed a sponsorship deal" with La Liga side Atlético Madrid, according to TELECOM PAPER. Huawei "will become Atlético Madrid’s global partner, collaborating on a number of communication and promotional activities over the next two years." Huawei’s logo "will be included on the club’s official shirt and equipment used by players during training sessions." In addition, Huawei "will have LED advertising presence at the team’s Vicente Calderon stadium and the company will install displays in several areas of the club." Huawei "is also the exclusive global technology partner of the Spanish Football League (LFP)" (TELECOM PAPER, 9/19). XINHUA reported the agreement "further strengthens Atlético Madrid's links with China." The club already has a collaboration accord with Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua and also forms part of the "Wanda Project" which sees them train 30 Chinese youngsters in Spain, with a view to helping create a new generation of Chinese football talent (XINHUA, 9/19).
