Indian TV Network Sony Six Acquires NFL Broadcast Rights In Multiyear Deal

Multi Screen Media India-promoted Sony Six "has now acquired the broadcasting rights" of the NFL, according to INDIAN TELEVISION. The announcement follows a multi-year TV partnership between the NFL and MSM, making Sony Six the NFL’s broadcast partner "across the Indian Subcontinent." The channel "will air the NFL for four years." The partnership includes TV rights to live regular season games, playoff games and the Super Bowl. The programming "will be themed around educational vignettes," highlight shows and the NFL’s trademark preseason documentary series Hard Knocks. They "will work collaboratively on unique initiatives to engage Indian audiences in order to grow fan base and increase knowledge and awareness of the NFL through media" (INDIAN TELEVISION, 9/17).
