Finance Notes: Ferrari Could Become First Team To Own Stake In F1

Ferrari "may become the first ever team to own a stake in Formula One after receiving options in the racing series" worth an estimated $25M that were previously held by former Ferrari Chair Luca di Montezemolo. A source close to the Italian marque said, "Ferrari, not Mr. Montezemolo, is entitled to exercise the rights" (London TELEGRAPH, 9/14). ... EPL side Tottenham Hotspur and the Takeover Panel "have confirmed the club is in an official bidding period with Cain Hoy." The Takeover Panel, the independent supervisory body, "posted Cain Hoy’s interest in buying Spurs on its official disclosure table on Monday." Cain Hoy "announced its interest in buying Tottenham last Friday and now has until 5pm on Oct. 10 to make a bid" (London TELEGRAPH, 9/15).
