Event Notes: Sevens Wellington Ticket Launch Fails To Sell Out On First Day

The Sevens Wellington ticket launch has "gone off without a repeat of last year's disaster, but the event is still far from selling out." A website glitch last year caused sales to "grind to a halt after 10 minutes." Tickets for the '15 event went on sale at 10am on Tuesday, with 13,000 tickets sold by 4pm. The stadium's capacity is 34,500 (DOMINION POST, 9/16). ... National Rugby League side New Zealand Warriors will play against the Wests Tigers, Canberra Raiders and Gold Coast Titans in the pool round of the 2015 NRL Auckland Nines at Eden Park. The second edition of the tournament will take place from Jan. 31-Feb. 1 (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 9/16).
