EMILIO BOTIN, "who built Banco Santander SA from a Spanish regional lender into Europe’s second-largest bank by market value during his 28-year chairmanship, has died." He was 79. Botin "died of a heart attack in Madrid" Tuesday night. The company named ANA PATRICIA BOTIN "as her father’s successor as chairman" (BLOOMBERG, 9/10). ... The Int'l Cricket Council on Tuesday suspended Pakistani cricketer SAEED AJMAL "after his bowing action was found to be illegal following an independent analysis" (PTI, 9/9).
