Media Notes: TV Media Sport Partners With MP & Silva To Distribute Serie A, Bundesliga Rights

TV Media Sport partnered with MP & Silva for the distribution of Serie A media rights for the '14-15 season. TVMS will distribute Bundesliga rights in 22 countries in sub-Saharan Africa and will extend and expand its portfolio of media rights around European football (TV Media Sport). ... Sky Deutschland secured the exclusive live broadcasting rights for the FIA Formula E Championship. Sky will broadcast live all races of the new FIA fully-electric racing series, which begins in Beijing on Sept. 13. Apart from the exclusive TV broadcasting rights, the agreement also includes the Internet, IPTV and mobile rights (Formula E). ... BeIN Sports gained "the exclusive rights" to the Argentine first division until '19. Taking over from Ma Chaîne Sport, "the global sports network will air the top game of the week along with all of the goals from every match" on the "Expresso" and "The Club" programs on its beIN Sports 1 channel (SOCCEREX, 9/1).

FIBA WORLD CUP: FIBA and Twitter are teaming up on a collaboration starting at the FIBA World Cup. For the first time, fans will get live scores from every game of FIBA's flagship event on Twitter. Fans can tweet "@FIBA scores" to find out in real time how their favorite team is performing (FIBA). ... Mediaset will broadcast "six more FIBA World Cup games during the group phase." The broadcaster made the announcement on Monday after "being criticized on Twitter throughout the weekend" for its coverage: it was "only scheduled to broadcast 15 -- of those, two on delay -- of the 60 games from the group phase." Now "six more have been added." The coverage will be available via the Internet on www.mitele.es/directo/mundobasket-2014. The additional games are: Iran-Serbia on Monday, Ukraine-Turkey and Finland-Dominican Republic on Tuesday, as well as Egypt-Iran and Dominican Republic-U.S. on Wednesday and Brazil-Egypt on Thursday, the final day of the group phase (AS, 9/1).
