Nike has promoted NEIL POTTER to a newly-created U.K. digital brand director role, in a possible sign that it will step up its U.K. digital activity. Potter "was previously Nike’s brand communications manager for western Europe and, prior to that, led marketing for its football, rugby and athletic training ranges." He confirmed the move but "declined to comment further on his new remit" (MARKETING MAGAZINE, 8/21). ... Bundesliga side Hamburg SV has reportedly appointed PETER KNÄBEL as its new sports director. Knäbel, who currently works for the Swiss Football Federation as its technical director, will take over his new position in September, at the latest. The 47-year-old will replace OLIVER KREUZER, who was fired in mid-July (BILD, 8/21). ... PIOTR PIETRZAK has joined sports marketing agency Sportfive as a co-managing director of its Poland office from September. The 34-year-old will work alongside ANDRZEJ PLACZYNSK in his new role (Sportfive).
