Sport1 Attracts 400,000 Viewers To Broadcast Of Czech Republic MotoGP Race

German sports network Sport1 "attracted a total of 400,000 viewers to its broadcast of the Sunday's MotoGP race," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. The race, which was won by Spaniard Dani Pedrosa and took place in the Czech Republic, obtained a market share of 2.9%. Prior to its MotoGP broadcast, Sport recorded 550,000 viewers for its football talk show "Doppelpass." In the target demographic 14-49, the talk show, which started at 11am, recorded a 4.6% market share.

ON ARD: German public broadcaster ARD obtained a market share of 8.2% as 1.12 million viewers tuned in to watch the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) race on Sunday. Highlights of the DFB-Pokal's (German Cup) first-round matchups, which started at 6pm, attracted 3.56 million viewers and had a 17% market share. In the target demographic, the "Sportschau" obtained a 12.4% share. German pay-TV channel Sky, which aired the German Cup games live starting at 2:30pm, recorded 460,000 viewers and had a 4.8% market share in the target demo. Sky's viewership fell to 170,000 viewers after 8pm (DWDL, 8/18).
