Marketplace Roundup: Hamburg Freezers Renew Main Sponsorship Deal With 5vorFlug

German Hockey League (DEL) club Hamburg Freezers has renewed its main sponsorship deal with 5vorFlug for another two seasons until '16. The travel website will continue to be on the front of the team's jerseys as well as on the left and right shoulders. In addition, 5vorFlug will receive logo presence at one of the faceoff circles and on boards at the O2 World in Hamburg. The company has been the club's main sponsor since '13 (Hamburg Freezers). ... Second Bundesliga club 1860 Munich "has extended its premium partnership deal with financial institute Stadtsparkasse Munich" until '16. In addition to its partnership with first team, the bank "will continue to support the club's youth teams and youth academy" (ABENDZEITUNG MÜNCHEN, 8/8). ... Bangladesh state-owned bank Janata Bank "stepped up to assist Bangladesh Hockey Federation again" with a purse of 5M BDT ($64,000) for the salary of the foreign coach of the national field hockey team on Sunday. The amount has been reduced to 5M BDT from 9M BDT ($116,000) "that was provided by the bank" on March 7, 2013 for the same purpose. Janata Bank Acting Managing Dir Omar Faruk revealed that "they also have plans to assist hockey in other ways apart from the provided amount" (DHAKA TRIBUNE, 8/11). ... The Powerday logo will have a predominant position on the front of the new Premiership Rugby side London Irish playing kit this season with its logo also appearing on all first team and Academy training kit, coaching staff wear and replica wear. The extension also includes matchday branding and hospitality rights at the Madejski Stadium and the club’s state of the art new training ground at Hazelwood. Powerday has been a long-term supporter of London Irish, which includes a 10-year backing of the London Irish Academy. They will continue to sponsor the Academy, Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence and London Irish Amateur Club this season (London Irish). ... South African side Polokwane City agreed to "a kit supply deal with XCO." The Gauteng-based sportswear brand "will provide" the newly promoted Premier Soccer League team with matchday and training wear for the next three seasons. In addition, "it will help develop community projects in the Limpopo region, where Polokwane City are the only top-flight club" (SOCCEREX, 8/11). ... League One side Sheffield United secured a two-year naming rights deal with homebuilder Duchy Homes for the John Street stand at the Bramall Lane stadium (Sheffield United). ... Parkmobile "has become an official supplier" to the Dutch Eredivisie. The company will work with the 18 top-flight clubs in the Netherlands "to improve the parking experience at their grounds." This "will include free use of the Parkmobile smartphone app" (SOCCEREX, 8/11). ... Tottenham signed a record two-year deal with Marathonbet, which becomes the club’s new exclusive betting partner for the start of the '14-15 season. The club had previously operated a regional partner model in the gaming sector, but the new two-year agreement sees Marathonbet take full category exclusivity (Tottenham).
