Event Notes: National Rugby League Officials To Begin Talks On Finals Scheduling

National Rugby League officials are "set to begin talks with representatives of ANZ Stadium and the SCG Trust in a bid to avoid a repeat of last year's finals scheduling problems which led to a double header at Allianz Stadium." An NRL spokesperson said that officials were "set to enter into discussions with the major stadiums to work through possible scenarios based on the Swans and Sydney teams being in the finals" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 8/3). ... The NRL Nines will "go ahead in Auckland next year." The event is set to be staged at Eden Park "after all." A clash of dates with the 2015 Cricket World Cup "had put the event in doubt" (NEW ZEALAND HERALD, 8/3).
