Tour De France Ratings Lower Than In '13 On Eurosport In Germany

Pan-European broadcaster Eurosport "attracted fewer viewers to its coverage of the Tour de France than in '13," according to Alexander Krei of DWDL. Eurosport attracted an average of 340,000 viewers to its broadcast of the Tour de France in Germany. Last year, the channel's tour coverage attracted more than 400,000 viewers on average. However, "a real comparison between '13 and '14 is not possible because this year the 30-60 minute recap show 'LeMond on Tour' was included in the live broadcast numbers." Eurosport said that this year's numbers "are on par with the last tour that followed a World Cup in '10." The "most watched stage at this year's tour was stage 14." A peak audience of 1.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the finish in Risoul (DWDL, 7/28).
