Scottish Championship Side Rangers To Rename Govan Stand In Honor Of Sandy Jardine

Scottish Championship side Rangers is "to rename the Govan Stand at Ibrox in honour of the late, great Sandy Jardine who passed away earlier this year," according to the Scotland DAILY RECORD. The club "made the announcement as a lasting tribute to their former player, who died in April at the age of 65 after a battle with cancer." The dedication "will be made before the club's opening league match" of the '14-15 season against Sandy's former side Heart of Midlothian. Members of Sandy's family, including his wife Shona, "will be present at the match" at Ibrox on Aug. 10 (DAILY RECORD, 7/16).
