French Pay-TV Network Canal+ Gets Rights To Euro 2016, 2018 World Cup Qualifiers

French pay-TV network Canal+ Sports Dir Cyril Linette announced that the network "won the tender launched by UEFA for the qualifiers for Euro 2016 in France and European qualifiers for the next World Cup in Russia in 2018," according to FOOT 365. Canal+ "will show live and exclusive coverage of the games of all European nations taking part in the qualifiers for Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup, but matches of the French team were assigned to TF1 for the next four seasons." Linette said that Canal+ acquired the rights to 526 games over the next four years, and these games will "primarily air on the network's dedicated sports channel Sport Plus." Canal+ "will also dedicate a magazine show to the French national team, which will air after Les Bleus games." The show will air on Canal+ Sport (FOOT 365, 7/10).
