League Notes: UCI Renews Licenses Of Tour Down Under, E3 Harelbeke Until '16

The Int'l Cycling Union (UCI) Licence Commission renewed the licenses for the Santos Tour Down Under (Australia) and the E3 Harelbeke (Belgium). The renewed licenses are valid until '16 (UCI). ... National Rugby League side Canberra Raiders "are confident junior player concessions will be included in the salary cap by next season" after NRL CEO David Smith "reassured them he intends to honour his promise in Canberra last week." The Raiders "have a vibrant junior nursery, and have been particularly vocal on the need for a system that rewards clubs for development to be introduced." Smith "reiterated to the club last week his intention to pursue the matter seriously" (SYDNEY MORNING HERALD, 7/7).
