Franchise Notes: Lincoln Red Imps To Represent Gibraltar In Champions League

Gibraltar side Lincoln Red Imps will become the country's first team to compete in qualification for the Champions League after finishing first during the Gibraltar Premier League's '13-14 season. Gibraltar became UEFA's 54th member in May '13 (EL MUNDO, 7/2). ... Spanish Basketball League (ACB) side Cajasol "will now be known as Sevilla Baloncesto and will change its logo and uniforms." José Luis Galilea of investment firm Jefferson Capital announced the news "at a press conference that lasted nearly two hours." The team also announced the additions of Benito Doblado and Audie Norris to its coaching staff (AS, 7/2). ... The Aguri Formula E Team announced that Portuguese driver Antonio Felix da Costa will join the team for its inaugural season (Formula E). ... Jay Penske-owned Formula E team Dragon Racing announced Mike Conway as a driver for its inaugural season. Conway is a multi-race winner in the IndyCar Series and this year is driving with Toyota's World Endurance Championship program. His experience also includes three seasons in GP2 and in F1 with Honda (Formula E). ... Andretti Formula E will see former F1 and full time Andretti Rallycross driver Scott Speed and two-time IndyCar champion and Indianapolis 500 winner Gil de Ferran in their fully electric race cars for the upcoming FIA Formula E Championship test this weekend at U.K.’s Donington Park (Formula E). ... Financially challenged Bulgarian club Levski Sofia "has moved again to fill the gaps in its finances by looking to get help from its fans." Owner Todor Batkov "is to transfer 15% of ownership of the club to the supporters' trust Blue Bulgaria." The two sides "have reached an agreement under which the transaction should be finalised by September" (INSIDE WORLD FOOTBALL, 7/2).
