Atlético Madrid "is valued" at €62.5M ($85.3M), according to José Marcos of EL PAIS. This "is according to a report from auditor Deloitte, which valued the stock of the club" on Feb. 27 in a "document accessed by El Pais." Deloitte "reached that figure" by subtracting the club's debt of €271.6M ($370.7M) from its estimated value of €334.1M ($456M). The club's debt includes sums owed to the Spanish government and "various financial entities." The club's debt had reached €540M in June '13. Atlético's success in this year's Champions League, "plus revenue it will earn from competing in the Champions League next year, will allow the club to to alleviate some of its economic struggles" (EL PAIS, 6/29).
