Franchise Notes: Lim's Acquisition Spurs Uptick In Ticket Interest For La Liga Valencia

La Liga side Valencia has "more than 2,500 fans registered on a wait list for season tickets for the '14-15 season." The excitement created by the club's new owner, Peter Lim, "and the names of possible player signings have fans believing in the club's new project." If "everything continues at this rate, Valencia could exceed 40,000 season-ticket holders after having less than 34,000 during the '12-13 season and 33,000 the prior year." In the first phase of season ticket sales, which lasted a week, the club sold 10,043 (SUPERDEPORTE, 6/18). ... Former Inter Milan board member Tommaso Giulini "has completed his takeover of Cagliari and is expected to face the media" on Friday, when he may confirm Zdenek Zeman as coach. The transfer of those shares to Giulini’s company Fluorsid Ltd. has reportedly been completed, for a deal worth around €45M ($61M) (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/19). ... Serie A side Sampdoria has hinted that it anticipates "an extension of Manolo Gabbiadini’s co-ownership deal with Juventus." Clubs have until 7pm Italian time on Friday evening "to resolve current co-ownership deals." While the Italian Football Federation "is ending such deals from this summer, clubs are allowed to extend existing deals by a further year." Sporting Dir Carlo Osti said, "On Gabbiadini we are moving slowly towards the renewal of the co-ownership" (FOOTBALL ITALIA, 6/19).
