La Liga Side Granada Lowers Prices Of Season Tickets By 40%, Aims To Sell 18,000

La Liga side Granada will "lower its season ticket prices for next season" by 40%, according to the EFE. Prices will range from €120 ($163) to €750 ($1,020), and the club's objective is to "sell 18,000 season tickets," a sum that Granada President Quique Pina "hopes to reach to cover the budget and prevent debt." Pina added that the prices for the '14-15 season "are also 50% lower than they were" for Granada's first season in La Liga after it was promoted. The "corners of the stadium will be reserved for fans older than 65 and for the unemployed, who will have access" to tickets at a "special rate" of €200 ($270), while fans "younger than five will be allowed to enter for free and and all prices will be reduced for kids between five and 12 years old." Pina: "The effort of season-ticket holders in previous seasons is being rewarded. This is an opportunity for those that could not go to matches due to Spain's economic crisis. ... If we sell 18,000 season tickets, I agree not to raise prices in the upcoming years" (EFE, 6/12).
