Former 2012 London Olympic Dir of Sport and current England Rugby 2015 CEO DEBBIE JEVANS "has joined the Football League as a new independent board member" (BBC, 6/5). ... Handball Bundesliga (HBL) club THW Kiel has appointed THORSTEN STORM "as its new managing director." The 49-year-old "will sign a five-year contract with the club." He will replace KLAUS ELWARDT, "who announced his resignation on Tuesday" (KIELER NACHRICHTEN, 6/5). ... Liverpool FC "has appointed" former London Olympic Stadium project manager TOM DOYLE to manage its £150M ($251M) stadium expansion plan. Doyle was project manager on the 2012 London stadium and "more recently" acted as project director on the £125M ($210M) SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, "which was built by Lend Lease." Before working for CLM, Doyle "was at Balfour Beatty for nearly seven years" (CONSTRUCTION ENQUIRER, 6/5). ... Second Bundesliga side 1860 Munich has appointed RICARDO MONIZ as its new head coach. The 49-year-old Dutch native, who most recently coached Polish side Lechia Gdansk, will sign a performance-based two-year deal starting on June 20. Interim coach MARKUS VON AHLEN will stay with the team as an assistant coach (1860 Munich). ... The 2020 Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee has named Japan PM SHINZO ABE chairman (JAPAN TIMES, 6/5).
