Media Notes: Argentine FA Debuts National Team's Official Twitter Account

The Argentine FA on Monday launched the official Twitter account of the Argentine national team -- @Argentina. The account debuted 10 days before the World Cup kickoff on June 12. The account's first tweet said, "Bienvenidos a la cuenta oficial de la AFA que acompañará a la Selección en Brasil. ¡Vivamos juntos el Mundial!" ("Welcome to the official AFA account that will accompany the National Team in Brazil. Let's live the World Cup together!") (Twitter). ... A local Indonesian version of ESPN FC was launched on Monday by Indonesian free-to-air TV station NET and ESPN. The 30-minute daily program will air at 1pm, seven days a week. NET will produce the show with consultation from ESPN on the look, feel and pace of the show. It will be hosted by Ganindra Bimo and Temmy Rahadi (ESPN). ... The Liberian Broadcasting System has "acquired" the exclusive media rights for the Liberian National Television to broadcast the FIFA World Cup. LNTV "negotiated and purchased" the rights from FIFA through the African Union of Broadcasters (ALL AFRICA, 5/29).
