Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) club Brose Baskets Bamberg released head coach CHRIS FLEMING and Managing Dir WOLFGANG HEYDER "after the club's early playoff exit." Under Fleming and Heyder's leadership, the team "won four consecutive league titles" (SÜDDEUTSCHE ZEITUNG, 5/29). ... RASOUL KHATIBI was named as the head coach of Iran's Tractor Sazi of Tabriz football club "with an undisclosed three-year contract." Khatibi, who is a former member of the Iranian national team and has played for Bundesliga side Hamburger SV and UAE Pro-League side Sharjah FC, replaced Portuguese TONI OLIVEIRA (XINHUA, 6/1). ... Romanian Rugby Federation President ALIN PETRACHE "was elected Thursday to the position president of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee." Petrache won the COSR oresidency for a two-year term and is to replace OCTAVIAN MORARIU. Pretrache "garnered 143 votes out of 202 valid ballots" (XINHUA, 5/29).
