Chinese tennis player LI NA will be featured in the May 26 issue of TIME magazine. This is the "second time in a little more than a year" that Li graces the magazine's cover, having "previously been featured on the cover of TIME's 2013 TIME 100 issue, the magazine's annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world." The feature, titled "The Passion Of Li Na," is focused on the player's "inspirational journey to achieving the pinnacle of success in professional tennis and her deep-rooted relationship with the Chinese people that have looked up to her for a decade." TIME defines Li to "be more than a global sports icon -- she inspires millions of Chinese as a symbol of independence and freedom" (CHINA DAILY, 5/17). ... Arsenal Manager ARSÈNE WENGER will "sign a new contract imminently after his side overcame Hull City 3-2 in Saturday's FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium." Wenger's current deal is due to "expire in the close season and when he was asked if he would sign a new one in the days ahead," he replied, "That normally should happen, yes" (London TELEGRAPH, 5/18). ... First division Bolivian football side Sport Boys has signed Bolivian President EVO MORALES to "play midfield at a salary of $213 per month and expect the leftist leader to make his debut in August" (REUTERS, 5/17). ... Adidas CEO HERBERT HAINER said that "preparing the sportswear giant for a change at the top when his contract ends" in '17 will be "among his biggest priorities." Hainer: "I will not stay forever. One of my key tasks in the next three years will be to initiate the change at the top and to escort it" (REUTERS, 5/17). ... ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC "will be offered the opportunity" to become Paris St. Germain's sporting director when he decides to retire. The striker said earlier this month that "he intends to stay in the French capital for the remainder of his career" (London DAILY MAIL, 5/18).
