League Notes: India Income Tax Department Raids CSK Sponsor ADL Orbit Cables

India's Income Tax Department on Tuesday "conducted a raid at ," a sponsor of Indian Premier League side Chennai Super Kings. It "is owned by India Cements." While a company spokesperson did not respond to calls and messages, a senior official from the IT Department "confirmed the development." The official said, "The raid was conducted for not paying tax properly." The company announced its association with the IPL by terming itself as an "official power partner" to the Chennai Super Kings (Indian BUSINESS STANDARD, 5/13). ... Former World Cup winning Australian rugby team coach Bob Dwyer will be part of an expert Australian Rugby Union panel to oversee “crowd sourced” law change proposals for the National Rugby Championships. Dwyer, current Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie, FoxSports analyst Rod Kafer and former Test referee Wayne Erickson "will form a steering committee charged with sifting through ideas for rule twists and tweaks for the NRC, as submitted by the public on social media" (Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH, 5/13).
