La Liga Side Valencia's Offseason Stadium Renovations To Include New Drainage System

La Liga side Valencia will "begin work on the remodeling of its Mestalla stadium" on May 22 following the conclusion of the current season, according to Andrés García of SUPERDEPORTE. The "principal novelty will be changing of the field's drainage system," which has been the same since '82. There is "still a layer of old clay that Valencia wants to eliminate to improve the playing field." The team's objective is to "have everything in perfect condition by September." In addition to "changing the drainage, another of the primary changes will be lowering the field level by 50 centimeters, and later to change the irrigation system" (SUPERDEPORTE, 4/29).
